VOTO LATINO JOINS THE NATIONAL HISPANIC LEADERSHIP AGENDA

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA), a coalition of the nation's preeminent Latino advocacy organizations, welcomes Voto Latino as the coalition’s newest member organization. This addition ensures that NHLA will continue to be at the forefront of fighting for Latino rights and Latino civic engagement efforts.

“NHLA is honored to have Voto Latino join our coalition. Now more than ever, our community must work in bold and creative ways to organize and collectively mobilize in defense of our families. Voto Latino has engaged young Latinos in voter registration, issue advocacy, and leadership development through its innovative digital first campaigns,” said Hector Sanchez, NHLA Chair and Executive Director of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement. “NHLA knows that to effectively continue to advocate on behalf of the Latino community, we must authentically engage Latino youth and ensure that their views are represented in our priorities. We look forward to working toward that goal with Voto Latino as an integral member of our coalition.”

“Voto Latino is proud to join the NHLA and formally partner with sister organizations in further engaging and empowering American Latinos,” said Voto Latino President and CEO Maria Teresa Kumar. “Coming off an election year in which we registered a record number of voters, we know that it’s collective spaces like these that will help us grow the Latino electorate and cement our participation in every election. Latinos are the second largest group of Americans and through our work with NHLA and its member organizations, we will fight tirelessly to ensure Latinos have a seat at the table in deciding the future of our communities and our country.”
