Washington, D.C. -- Today, the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA), the coalition of 36 preeminent national Latino organizations in the country, sent letters of support to United States Senators urging a YES vote to confirm Alejandro Mayorkas as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security and requesting support to advance the nomination of Myrna Perez to be a Commissioner on the Election Assistance Commission (EAC).

Full text of the letters can be found at latinoappointments.org and via the direct links below.

The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee vote on Mr. Mayorkas' nomination is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Senate Dirksen Office Building, Room SD-342.

The Senate Rules and Administration Committee's nomination hearing on Ms. Perez is scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Senate Russell Office Building, Room SR-301.

In the letters, NHLA notes that all votes associated with the confirmation process for Mr. Mayorkas and Ms. Perez will be scored in the NHLA Congressional Scorecard on the 113th Congress.
