NHLA ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, a coalition of 46 of the nation’s preeminent Latino advocacy organizations, announced the results of its 2018 election of officers. The new NHLA leadership includes:

Chair: Thomas A. Saenz, President and General Counsel, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF)

Vice Chair: Jessica González-Rojas, Executive Director, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH)

Treasurer: Amy L. Hinojosa, President and CEO, MANA, A National Latina Organization

Member At-Large: Juan Andrade, Jr., President, United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI)

Member At-Large: Al Zapanta, President, United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce

Member At-Large: Mark Magaña, Founding President and CEO, GreenLatinos

NHLA’s Executive Committee released the following joint statement:

“We thank outgoing NHLA Chair Hector Sanchez Barba, Treasurer Brent Wilkes, and At-Large Executive Committee Member Yanira Cruz for their years of service in leading NHLA. Under their leadership, our coalition has grown from 30 member organizations in 2012 to 46 today, and NHLA worked in unity to lift up the Latino perspective on a broad range of policy issues facing the nation.

“We are eager to work together on behalf of the coalition to continue advancing our public policy agenda and speaking out and advocating for the interests of the Latino community. NHLA is here to be a voice for over 57 million Latinos in our nation’s federal policy debates, and we will make ourselves heard as we work together to build a more inclusive, equitable, and just America for all.”
